This Fitzroy project began as a derelict factory hidden within a dense inner‑city laneway — a forgotten shell with extraordinary potential. The client envisioned a modern masterpiece: light‑filled, refined, and equipped with contemporary amenities while retaining the raw character of its industrial origins.
A collaborative transformation.
Working in close partnership with Andrew Maynard Architects, we took what the client described as “a pile of bricks” and reimagined it as a bold, architectural home. The design centred around a dramatic three‑storey atrium — a vertical spine of light that connects every room and brings a sense of openness to the compact urban footprint.
Industrial character, modern comfort.
The home balances robust materials with warm, contemporary detailing. Light moves through the atrium throughout the day, softening the industrial palette and creating a calm, uplifting interior. Modern amenities, thoughtful planning and crafted finishes elevate the home beyond its origins while honouring the site’s history.
